ERNESTO GOMEZ

A multidisciplinary artist and graphic designer with a strong foundation in graphic production, visual storytelling, public-facing design, and community-centered communication. Experienced in creating clear, compelling imagery that translates complex ideas into accessible visuals aligned with civic values and public service. 30+ years of experience in the event production and scenic design industry, bridging the gap between designers and scenery shops with a focus on getting it done right on time the first time and on budget.

Ernesto "Lovercat" Gomez is a native New Yorker from Brooklyn, currently living on a “hill in Garberville” California and uses reclaimed materials like cardboard & wood to make his artwork, an amalgam of mesoamerican symbology with hieroglyphic street art stylings in the redwoods of Humboldt County. When he's not making art, he's playing music in the streets, at festivals, or at a farmer's market as “Old Viejo Bones”. Also acting as a board member with the Jalopy Theatre & School of Music in Red Hook, Brooklyn since 2016, he spends his time establishing a creative bridge between both coasts.

Since July 2020, he has had the opportunity to take part and nurture a network of artists and musicians that endeavor to elevate the artistic culture within Humboldt County, CA. Working with the Epitome Gallery, La Ciendita, The Ink People Center for the Arts, Synapsis Union, North Coast Growers’ Association, and Aquilli Metzli Masa Coop, their collective goal has been to raise social consciousness, increase tourism and put a spotlight on the community of talented individuals and amazing attractions Humboldt County has to offer.
